Arlington, VA – August 16, 2018 – Legum & Norman, an Associa company, is proud to announce that its client, Potomac Yard, has been awarded the Organization Achievement Award for the development of its Transportation Management Plan.
A Transportation Management Plan (TMP) is a site-specific plan of Transportation Demand Management (TDM) strategies to encourage residents and employees to take public transportation, walk, bike or share a ride instead of driving alone.
Potomac Yard is a rapidly developing 300-acre, mixed-use community intersecting both Arlington County and the City of Alexandria in Virginia. Potomac Yard boosts 2.5 million square feet of office space and 188,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, which includes the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Harris Teeter, and 1,600 new residential units.
“The TMP assists Potomac Yard employees with cost effective and efficient transportation benefits to help them find the best available options to get to, from, and around Potomac Yard,” stated Marc McCoy, Legum & Norman president. “We could not be more proud of Potomac Yard for developing this multi-beneficial transportation plan. I would like to personally thank our L&N team members, Marco Torrey, manager, and Joan Watson, assistant manager, for being instrumental in the planning process.”
A total of 377 employees take advantage of the transportation services being offered by TMP, including 300 who use transit, 57 who carpool and vanpool, and 20 who choose to use the bike benefit.
