Community Management Corporation Portfolio Manager Named to Commission on Common Ownership Communities in Prince George’s County

CHANTILLY, Va.  – April 4, 2017 – Community Management Corporation Senior Portfolio Manager Cheryl Butler Walker was recently appointed to the Commission on Common Ownership Communities for Prince George’s County in Maryland. The newly formed body is the first group of its kind to act on behalf of the county providing oversight, education and legislation in the community management industry.

We look forward to her representing CMC well during her time on this prestigious commission.” 

The purpose of the Commission on Common Ownership Communities is to:

  1. Ensure proper establishment and operation of homeowners’ associations, condominium associations and cooperative housing corporations
  2. Promote education, public awareness and association membership understanding of the rights and obligations of living in a common ownership community
  3. Reduce the number and divisiveness of disputes, and encourage informal resolution of disputes
  4. Maintain peppery values and quality of life in common ownership communities
  5. Assist and oversee the development of coordinated community and government policies, program, and services which support these communities
  6. Prevent potential public financial liability for repair or replacement of common ownership community facilities

Walker has been a valued employee for CMC since 2011 and has been in the community management industry for more than two decades. She also holds the appropriate Housing Certifications and Maryland Brokers Licenses. Additionally, in October of 2016 she was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan Jr. to a 4-year term as a Trustee for Affordable Housing.
