Jordan Pressley Courtney, Winthrop University

Jordan Pressley Courtney
Jordan’s resume reads like a blueprint for leadership, service, and academic excellence. Ranked third in her class at Conway High School with a 5.3 GPA, she has taken a rigorous course load of Advanced Placement, honors, and dual enrollment classes, all while serving as student body president, founder of the school’s weekly morning show, and captain of the varsity swim team. She plans to attend Winthrop University’s Honors College to study criminology, with aspirations of becoming a violent crimes investigator for a major agency such as the FBI.
Jordan’s leadership extends far beyond the classroom. She’s held numerous roles in student government, including class president for two years and student council president her senior year. She’s also been a swim coach, private instructor, cake decorator, and delegate to both the FBI Teen Academy and Palmetto Girls State. Her community service includes volunteering with the Humane Society, Pee Dee Land Trust, and her church, where she serves as a youth usher and liturgist.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive the Marianna Brady, PhD. Scholarship. This award not only supports my academic journey but also affirms the hard work and dedication I’ve poured into my education and community. I’m excited to continue growing as a leader and making a meaningful impact in the world.”
Jordan is the daughter of Jennifer Courtney.
