Honolulu, HI – February 8, 2018 – Associa Hawaii continues to strengthen their operational team with the addition of Cheryl Franklin, vice president of operations, West Oahu; Drew Hershey, vice president and principal broker; and Kim Becker, director of the reserve study division.
Ms. Franklin rejoins Associa Hawaii with more than 10 years of industry experience, most recently as the executive manager of operations for Hawaiiana Management Co., where she built strong relationships with some of Hawaiiana's largest clients through her diverse management portfolio. She first joined the Associa Hawaii team in 2006 as an account executive, quickly grew into a director of training and development role, followed by a term as the vice president of account executives for Oahu. Ms. Franklin will be partnering with the operations and business development teams to continue to grow the client base. She will focus on continuing to provide the Associa gold standard of services to current and future clients. She will also be lending her expertise to the human resources team to develop a comprehensive training and development program for new employees, as well as enrichment programs for more tenured staff. Ms. Franklin has earned her CMCA designation and is currently working to attain her PCAM designation. Ms. Franklin received her Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in Economics and Business administration.
Mr. Hershey joined Associa Hawaii in 2017 as a senior community manager and was quickly promoted to the rentals and sales division. Prior to joining Associa, Mr. Hershey served as the business development manager for RealManage LLC, where he was responsible for all of the business development in Central Texas. While at RealManage, he produced the largest increase in unit count and revenue in 2016 and 2017. Prior to RealManage, Mr. Hershey was a regional support manager for Holiday Retirement where he focused on identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions. He has earned his CMCA and CRS designations. Mr. Hershey has been the Fair Housing instructor and member of the board directors as well as the executive director of the Community Housing Resource board. He is currently serving on the state and local board of directors for the American Civil Liberties Union.
Ms. Becker rejoined Associa Hawaii as the director of the reserve study division and has more than five years of community manager experience. She has managed a diverse portfolio of communities including townhome, apartment and single family home communities, commercial buildings and high rises. In her new role, she will be working with Associa community managers to perform the annual reserve study required under Hawaii law. The Associa Hawaii reserve study division will help the communities to properly plan and budget for their long term repair and maintenance capital improvement projects. Ms. Becker has served on her personal association’s board of directors for 10 years - three years as treasurer and three years as president. She has obtained the coveted CMCA, AMS and RS designations. Ms. Becker has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medical Studies from Hawaii Pacific University and graduated with honors.
