After she receives her associate degree from Langara College, CJ McGillivray will transfer to the University of British Columbia to study English literature and classical studies. During her time at Langara, CJ has worked as an academic tutor in the college’s writing center, creating individualized student action plans to assist peers in improving their academic writing. She is also employed as a digital content developer for Ashton Education, creating engaging content, graphics, and videos to promote educational values and build community engagement. Passionate about theater and performing arts, CJ acted as a musical director and instructor for the Place des Arts summer teen theater intensive, and has assisted in sound design, musical direction, projection design, and production design on more than 25 different independent film and theater productions over the last seven years. She has been invited as a guest panelist to speak on mental health and recovery at Turning Point, Together We Can, Vancouver Recover Centre, Vancouver Detox, and other local recovery houses in the Vancouver and Richmond, British Columbia areas.
