  • Mark P. Southall, PCAM®, CPM®, CMCA®, AMS®, COS®

    As President of Principal Management Group of North Texas, Mark Southall oversees the firm's management operations for the North Texas region.... Learn more He is responsible for his division's three offices - located in Dallas, Fort Worth and Frisco - and for some 150 employees in the region. Having served the firm well in positions of significant responsibility prior to his assignment to this executive post, Mr. Southall is eminently qualified to fill this important leadership role.

    A veteran community manager, Mr. Southall's experience encompasses virtually all facets of the community management industry - including community associations, commercial buildings, and apartment communities. Mr. Southall served on the board of directors for the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of Community Associations from 1998-2001, and as its President during 1999. Mr. Southall served another term on the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter board from 2003 through 2008. In 2001 Mr. Southall was inducted into the Community Associations Institute Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter's Hall of Fame for his work in promoting the community association industry. Mr. Southall currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Metro Dallas.

    Mr. Southall holds the following professional designations: Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) and Association Management Specialist (AMS) awarded by Community Associations Institute, Certified Property Manager (CPM) awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management, Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) awarded by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM). A Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Mr. Southall has also established himself as an expert in the field of assisted living.

    A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Southall's background includes positions in the banking industry where his responsibilities included commercial and residential asset management. Among his former positions, he served for six years as Senior Vice President of a prominent area bank.

  • Shawn Marye Fazekas

During her tenor in San Antonio, she became involved with every facet of the business - accounting, administrative, and managerial functions. Ms. Fazekas also facilitates education classes specializing in GAAP standards and accounting duties. Working for Association Services of Florida for 2 years, as the Director of Financial Services, Ms. Fazekas excelled in overseeing the accounting department, facilitating financial training classes for board of directors and members of communities. Ms. Fazekas utilizes her vast knowledge of the community management industry by facilitating training for various Associa Member company accounting departments, and actively participates in the growth of the company and corporation at large. Shawn Fazekas has created, implemented, and facilitated training manuals and classes to other Associa Member companies for the accounting and managerial computer program used, Complete Control for Communities (C3).

    Ms. Fazekas has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and has taken numerous courses on community management accounting standards and practices.

Learn more this capacity include serving as a mentor to the branch CEO’s to help them achieve Associa’s core corporate objectives as well as uphold Associa corporate policies. Steele also educates each CEO in a variety of areas including how to improve company performance, business planning and innovation.

    Steele was formerly the Vice President of Associa’s National Field Services, where he was responsible for the oversight of the maintenance operations in Associa branches to further develop service and product offerings.

    Prior to his position with the corporate office, Steele was President of Associa company Real Property Management, Inc., in Columbus Ohio. He holds his AMS, CMCA, and PCAM designations from the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is also a licensed real estate agent in the state of Ohio with more than 19 years in the community association management industry.

    Steele has been married for 10 years has a son and two young daughters. He and his family relocated to Arizona in 2010 after spending his entire life in Ohio. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys attending Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games and Phoenix Suns basketball games. He also attends and helps coach his children in various sports such as soccer, baseball and swimming.
