I am the President of the Homeowners' Association of The Shores Condominiums in Alameda, California. I was responsible for choosing M&C Association Management Services as our management company and have worked closely with Ian Brown of M&C, our community manager, since July 2010. He has always been professional in his communications with the Board and the owners and has offered us sound guidance on the many issues faced by this Association in the past year. He has found vendors and providers of services who have met our needs and exceeded our expectations. He has assisted us in finding someone with the experience and expertise to create a reserve study that puts in place a long-term plan for repairs and replacements of our equipment and facilities that will be paid out of our savings rather than special assessments when the items involved fail. In my estimation, this along adds to the security of our owners and the overall value of each homeowner's interest as it puts us on a sound financial footing for the future. I have the highest regard for Ian, his knowledge, skills and abilities and would unconditionally recommend him and M&C Association Management Services to any other homeowners' association.

I can't say enough about M&C. They have really made things a whole lot easier as a board member. They do the work, we say yay or nay… The meetings aren't as often and a lot less time consuming. We have really moved far in the right direction. Ian had been very easy to work with. He doesn't take sides (even if you want him to) and he's right to the point.

My feelings regarding Ian and M&C is that they/he have done an excellent job for us in the Walnut community. I feel that we are much more organized and on top of things than ever before. I believe there is a ways to go, but that we are, through Ian's professionalism and good advice and direction where needed, getting to where we want to be with our 'organization'. I feel strongly that everyone is doing a good job- and that the board is working well with Ian.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy driving into my neighborhood these days. The plants and colorful flowers as you enter are just beautiful… I’ve always worried that over time, things would deteriorate around here and it would start to look like other areas where there are a large amount of rentals but so far it looks as nice as when I moved in 4 years ago. Thank you for the terrific online Homeowner Orientation course available through the community website. This is my first experience living in a community governed by a homeowners association.
