  • Sherrill Schafer, PCAM®

Learn more Community Association Manager (PCAM) designation. In order to receive the PCAM designation, she attended more than 60 hours of formal classroom study of law, communications, operations and asset protection. A minimum of five years’ work experience in community association management and completion of a case study that puts knowledge learned in the classroom into practice is also required. Schafer remains dedicated to education by serving as an active member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), an association committed to the successful operations of community associations and furthering the education of association managers throughout the country. She is a founding member of the Greater Jacksonville Chapter of CAI.

    Schafer also successfully owned and operated her own association management firm for seven years before becoming a member of the Associa team. Her vast experience in all aspects of association management allows her to provide tremendous service and excellence to our associations. She is also a former member of the Community Associations Institute Legislature Action Committee, which monitors and affects positive changes to the state laws and statutes that govern homeowners associations.

    Over the years, Schafer has transformed struggling communities to thriving ones. She teamed with Board members and homeowners to implement programs for refurbishment of the buildings, landscape and recreational facilities, establish realistic operating budgets and put reserve plans t into action, which eliminate the need for special assessments or excessive increases in monthly assessments.

    Schafer has had long-term, valued clients — for 20 years in some communities.

  • Jennifer Presson, CMCA®

    Jennifer Presson joined Community Management Concepts in 2008 and was named vice president of operations. She has 30 years of property management... Learn more experience, including commercial, multifamily and community association management. Prior to joining Community Management Concepts, she worked for Property Services, Inc. (acquired by Associa in 2008) for 16 years as senior manager of the operation. There she managed a portfolio of residential and commercial condominiums and homeowners associations. In addition, Presson managed the maintenance department for Property Services, and continues in that roll with Community Management Concepts. Before that, she spent 14 years working in the commercial and residential property management field.

    Presson is actively involved in the Greater Jacksonville Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is pursuing the required course to become a PCAM. In addition to being a Licensed CAM, Presson is a Licensed Florida Real Estate Agent and Certified Apartment Manager.

  • Janet Barnes

    Janet Barnes joined Community Management Concepts in 2008 as lead accountant and was subsequently promoted to controller. She oversees all aspects... Learn more of accounting for our commercial and residential condominium association and homeowner association clients. Barnes supervises the accounting staff, closes the monthly books and performs the reserve fund accounting and budgeting functions. She also heads up the resale, collections and HR departments.

    Prior to joining Community Management Concepts, Barnes worked for Property Services, Inc. (acquired by Associa in 2008) for 11 years as accounting manager. She performed all aspects of accounting, including commercial, multifamily rentals and community associations. She maintained the computer systems and IT network, in addition to performing all aspects of property accounting. Prior to PSI, she spent 15 years working in retail welding supply, where her duties encompassed accounting, purchasing agent, computer operator, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

  • George Skrbin

    George Skrbin oversees a portfolio of 11 Associa branch offices throughout the United States in his role as Senior Vice President. His responsibilities... Learn more in this capacity include serving as a mentor to the branch CEO’s to help them achieve Associa’s core corporate objectives as well as uphold Associa corporate policies.

    Skrbin also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer Association Services of Florida. In that capacity, he sets strategy and directs operations for ASF. Additionally, he leads the senior management team as they drive business results to create value for ASF.

    Previously, Skrbin served as Chief Operating officer for a large California community management company with eight offices throughout the state. He has more than 18 years of experience in the community management industry. Skrbin began his career in 1990 as a community manager in San Diego. He held positions within the same company with increasing responsibility across several regions before being promoted to COO.

    Mr. Skrbin was responsible for the development and execution of the company’s strategic growth goals, along with guiding the management infrastructure and its support systems. He was also active in client relations, business development, contract management, strategic planning and training for regional expansion teams. This focused on business development activities in the Inland Empire, Valencia, Central Valley, the Desert and Northern California establishing regional offices in these areas.

    Mr. Skrbin earned his bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Denver. Skrbin was also active with the California Association of Community Managers where he held his designation of Certified Community Association Manager.
